Life Update 2025-01-13
Current status: (~updated 2025-01-13)
- Diving into “Process Theology” which is fitting in with the changes that have been happening over the past few years with my sense of God. Holding concepts loosely these days. The phrase “God is love” is about the best I can do and that seems to be what everyone I’m reading has for the bottom line.
- Just about ready for a good novel, not too long with good characters that I can sink into.
- Wanting to write something just to be writing, but seemingly not finding anything in my head to put into words. Okay, probably not sitting down and actually just beginning to write what comes. I gotta let go of that finished product mentality and also the idea that I’m writing to an audience. Ava’s post “restful weekend” gave me an idea for how to get going on this. I’m planning to implement a bit of boredom today.
- Added an enjoyable blog with lots to think about to my RSS feed - annie’s blog.

- The Emergent Christ: Exploring the Meaning of Catholic in an Evolutionary Universe by Ilia Delio. The Emergent Christ is an antidote to the new atheism that says there is no place in evolution for God, let alone a God of love. It is also a spiritual tonic for Christians interested in understanding their place and purpose in this evolving universe.
- The New Being by Paul Tillich. These twenty-three meditations on key passages from the Bible were originally delivered as addresses at colleges and universities. They are short, powerful, and persuasive examinations of the effect of God’s love on the life of the believer and the challenges of living the New Creation–“the infinite passion of every human being.”
- The Awakening Call by James Finley for Depth & Mysticisim Study Group. We are on Chapter 5.

Music:
- Rediscovered an old favorite. I had this on vinyl when it came out. Saw a mention of it and found it on Hoopla to borrow. I listened to my heart’s content. I’ll probably buy it. Music can bring back memories in such a visceral way. The Best of Bread. My favorite is “If”.
